Gebwell Ltd was founded in 2005. At first its products consisted of ground source heat pumps and their accessories manufactured in Leppävirta through subcontracting. The range of services was quickly widened as the company obtained its first drilling trucks for well drilling in 2006.
The company launched its own production in 2007. The following year its product range was extended to cover also another environmentally friendly heating method, district heating, as the company began to manufacture district heating substations in addition to ground source heat pumps.
In January 2009 we moved to our current premises at Patruunapolku. The new building contains of our headquarters and 5,500 m2 of production facilities. Gebwell Ltd.’s own powder paint shop began operating on the premises. In 2012 our production capacity was again increased when we leased 4,500 m2 of production facilities.
At the turn of the year 2016 our partner Pivaset Ltd. merged into Gebwell Ltd. Pivaset is Finland’s leading manufacturer of fire-extinguishing equipment. Pivaset will remain as the brand for fire-extinguishing equipment and contract manufacturing. Along with the merger our production capacity was increased to 20,000 square meters.
Naturally our office and production facilities are heated using Gebwell ground source heat.
Gebwell Ltd.’s primary owner is Timo Hulkkonen who acted as Gebwell Ltd.’s managing director until the end of 2012 and who still acts as chairman of the board. The company’s key personnel have decades of experience in the heating industry.
Gebwell Ltd.’s name describes the basic idea of ground source heat. The name combines the ancient Egyptian god of the Earth, Geb, with the English word well.
